Finn & Erin's Destination Wedding | Boschendal, Franshhoek
How did you guys meet?
I am South African, and Finn is half South African, and so when we met at Medical School in the UK, everyone thought it was a lucky coincidence.
It wasn’t. I had heard about this giant half South African man who had transferred into my year, and I set out to find him. 9 years, and a wedding later, here we are.
Why did you want us to capture your wedding day? How do you think you’ll feel watching everything back in years to come?
We think your videos truly capture the essence of what a wedding day is meant to be about – being surrounded by the people you love.
You capture genuine emotion beautifully, and have a great eye for tiny details, which can often be overlooked, but significantly add to the memory of the day.
Tell me about the proposal – I love hearing these stories
We often go to Salcombe, which is a small coastal town in Devon. Finn has been going there since he was a small child, and it holds a very special place in the Stevenson’s hearts. He proposed on a sunny but freezing December morning.
We were on our favourite beach in Salcombe, about to go for a cold water swim, fully kitted out in our dry robes. I didn’t even let Finn finish was he was trying to say to me and just shouted YES.
What do you guys do for a living? How do spend your free time?
I am doctor in Intensive Care, and Finn has left the medical world to start his own digital health tech company. He is living his best start up life working out of a converted barn in Cambridge.
Finn certainly has plenty of niche hobbies – his latest being OC1 canoeing, and will often canoe alongside me when I am out for a run along the river in Cambs.
Why did you choose the wedding venue? What was special about it when you saw it for the first time?
We love Boschendal and thought it would be great to get married somewhere that we could always easily come back to with family and friends. The scenery and setting are beautiful (and the wine is fab too).
What experience do you wish to give your guests?
We will have friends and family who will have travelled a long way to join us, and so it was important to us to create a fun and love-filled weekend for them. We liked the idea of having a weekend, and this gives everyone time to meet and really get to know each other.
For some people this will be their first time in South Africa, and so we are very excited to share this part of ourselves with them.
Where do you see yourselves in 10 years time?
Celebrating our 10 year Anniversary at Boschendal, of course!
