How did you guys meet?
Mutual friend at peddlers on the bend in Constantia.
Why did you want us to capture your wedding day? How do you think you’ll feel watching everything back in years to come?
Because it’s such a special celebration of our love and we want to be able to watch it back in years to come. We hope to feel the same way watching everything. A moment to reignite the energy.
Tell me about the proposal 🙂
We already had our daughter at that time. We had taken her to hermanus for the weekend to enjoy the beach sand and ocean. Hermanus is our favourite getaway. Richard had planned to drop to one knee along the cliff path, except Julia had asked him to carry the baby in the front carrier.
So while sitting on our favourite bench watching the waves, Richard proposed. With the most beautiful emerald. It started with “MJ and I really love spending time with you”…. The rest is a blur. The ring made Julia deaf and Rich was so nervous he forgot what he wanted to say. He later “proposed” again with the speech he had planned.
What do you guys do for a living? How do spend your free time?
We both work in sales. We spend our free time walking, adventuring, exploring and getting away.
Why did you choose the wedding venue? What was special about it when you saw it for the first time?
Julia’s best friend from school married the owners son from silvermist vineyard. They live the estate. Julia and the kids are often there visiting at least once a week.
It is a very special place! It speaks for itself. One of the view venues in the area that is still so untouched and rustic
Tell me about the vision you have for your wedding. What experience do you wish to give your guests?
We wish to curate an afternoon where the guests take a journey with us as we celebrate our love through good music, great food, laughter and all the happiness that comes with being around friends and family that have made the effort to join us
Where do you see yourselves in 10 years time?
Living life to the fullest. Exploring. Loving. Being kind. In Cape Town.
