How did you guys meet?

Quite a funny story. Jonny and I actually met many many years ago at a random bar. Bless, Jonny inboxed me on FB after and asked to take me out for coffee to get to know me better (my version – honestly I did not see the messages until years later – it was during the time that Facebook and Messenger were separate apps).

Fast forward a couple of years later (4 years to be precise) we started working at the same law firm (where his brother, my now brother in law was my boss!) and completed our articles together. It was the best worst time but we were in the thick of it together – He became my best friend and the rest is history πŸ™‚

Why did you want us to capture your wedding day? How do you think you’ll feel watching everything back in years to come?

We loved how natural, slow, dramatic and effortless the emotions, the surroundings, the people and couple are captured with each unique wedding filmed. It really captures the overall feeling and atmosphere.

I hope we feel as light, excited, giddy and obsessed with each other as we are now! For me, wedding videos are always so special to see those who may not be with us in many many many years to come. It’s a moment for us to capture our best selves and those closest to us celebrating and as excited about our love as we are.

Tell me about the proposal πŸ™‚

Oh this is also a goodie! We had gone away to Europe in August 2022 and if anything this would have been the perfect/easiest (so I thought) opportunity for him to propose.

I was wrong, Jonny mentioned he needed a few more years πŸ˜‰ Here I am carrying on with life, not expecting anything (but getting all the pressure from my dad, who was actually in on the whole proposal for many months in advance), little did I know Jonny had been planning to propose to me and he did so on 24 March 2023.

I thought we were going to have a little getaway for the weekend in Stellies – packed a bag and ready to go. He took me for brunch and got down on one knee after taking a stroll at La Residance.

I was whisked away to a visit to Babylonstoren (my first time) where I was surprised by our family (his who came from Joburg) waiting for us in the Spice room where celebrations continued.

What do you guys do for a living? How do spend your free time?

Ex attorneys, no longer practising law, Jon is now involved in financial technology and I am operations for a local online betting company.

We love spending our time eating delicious foods, cooking together, exercising outdoors, watching movies and crime documentaries (mostly my initiation here lol) and of course Jonny who loves to play his guitar (I do the listening).

Why did you choose the wedding venue? What was special about it when you saw it for the first time?

Quoin Rock has always been a special place for us – my dad’s 50th birthday was celebrated here before Covid. We came from Joburg and straight after this trip, we went into lockdown.

We knew if we ever were going to have a ‘big’ wedding we wanted it to be here because of the incredible scenery and landscape. The wine and time spent with close family and friends have always been the fondest of memories, so we hope to share it with our even bigger circle of friends and family.

Tell me about the vision you have for your wedding. What experience do you wish to give your guests?

Light, easy-going, fun, mystic, charming and class.

Where do you see yourselves in 10 years time?Β

Happily married! Babies! Traveling (with babies hopefully by then). Living our best lives! πŸ™‚
