Hannah and Johnpaul’s wedding at Landtscap unfolded like a fairytale – vibrant, colourful, and alive with energy from the first hour to the last dance.

The morning began quietly. Johnpaul and his family gathered for a prayer together, a private moment before the day opened up into something bigger. By the time Hannah and Johnpaul stood to read the vows they’d written for each other, the room had shifted from stillness to laughter – some lines heartfelt, others catching everyone off guard and pulling a proper laugh out of the crowd.

Then the party. Few dancefloors come close to the one Hannah and Johnpaul’s guests built that night – the kind of joy that’s rare to witness, let alone film.

As a wedding filmmaker based in Cape Town, I shoot a limited number of weddings each year across South Africa and abroad, and days like this one at Landtscap are exactly why. It’s a film Hannah and Johnpaul will show their kids one day – not just footage of a wedding, but a record of what that day actually felt like.
