Brookdale Estate Wedding Video | Ian & Carmen
How did you guys meet?
Ian and I met around the age of 15/16 years old in Plettenberg bay. We were introduced to one another by friends. He lived in Cape Town and I lived in Johannesburg. We stayed in contact and have been dating ever since and have had to continue a long distance relationship ever since as he now works out of the country.
Why did you want us to capture your wedding day? How do you think you’ll feel watching everything back in years to come?
I truly loved your way of story telling and the happiness you captured in each of your videos.
How did the proposal take place?
Ian and I met in Plettenberg bay, thus it was fitting that we got engaged there. Ian planned a proposal at a nearby restaurant/farm in Plett where he asked me to marry him next to a small lake.
Unfortunately, he had emergency surgery just a week prior to our engagement but was adamant to get down on one knee. Later that evening we had a small gathering with family.
What do you guys do for a living? How do spend your free time?
Ian works in the oil & gas industry as a QA/QC and I’m an optometrist. I enjoy spending my free time with my beloved doggies and Ian enjoys being outdoors spending time in the pool or next to the braai.
Why did you choose the wedding venue? What was special about it when you saw it for the first time?
We wanted a very intimate wedding that almost felt like it was held in our backyard with our closest friends and family. The old Cape style of the house is very much our style. The lovely staff at the venue also played a major part in why we chose it, they are truly so attentive, kind and truly interested in making our special day even more special.
What vision did you have for your wedding. What experience did you wish to give your guests?
I envision a French/Bridgeton style wedding. I hope to provide the guests with a magical day filled with fun activities, beautiful décor and amazing music.
Where do you see yourselves in 10 years time?
Hopefully, in the same country being able to spend more time together.
